A results-oriented litigator and trial strategist, Emily Viglietta has extensive experience in complex civil litigation, intellectual property, and regulatory matters. Emily represents both corporate and individual clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters across several industries, including entertainment and energy.

Emily has years of experience representing utilities and other regulated entities in complex regulatory proceedings and in federal court.

Before joining Willenken, Emily served as a senior litigation counsel at Warner Bros. Entertainment. In addition to managing active litigation on behalf of Warner, she counseled the company on issues such as mitigating risk and responding to pre-litigation claims.

Emily was also of counsel at a litigation boutique, and spent five years as a litigation associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. Her work in private practice has spanned a broad range of substantive areas, including copyright, trade secrets, legal malpractice, idea submission, and profit participation. 

Early in her legal career, Emily clerked for the Hon. Brian M. Cogan, in the Eastern District of New York, and interned for the Hon. Shira A. Scheindlin in the Southern District of New York. She graduated, magna cum laude, from Fordham Law School, where she served on the Fordham Law Review.

  • Republic of Hungary, et al. v. Rosalie Simon et al. and Federal Republic of Germany v. Alan Phillip, et al. Filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court for two university professors, in two high-profile matters involving litigation over Holocaust-era assets, addressing whether international comity could still provide a basis for a court to decline jurisdiction over a foreign sovereign, if the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act provided that no immunity existed.

Emily is the founding board president of El Rio Community School, a new charter school serving low-income elementary school students in Northeast Los Angeles. Emily also maintains an active pro bono practice.
