Sharon Song brings a practical, client-centered approach to business litigation, shaped by extensive experience representing Fortune 500 companies, technology leaders, and financial institutions in high-stakes disputes. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, data privacy, and technology matters, as well as class action defense and trial work.

At Willenken, Sharon takes on substantive responsibility across case strategy, motion practice, discovery, depositions, client communications, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. She has defended clients in matters involving complex fact patterns, RICO allegations, class exposure, government investigations, and other business-critical disputes.

Before joining Willenken, Sharon completed a secondment at LinkedIn, where she helped develop global litigation strategy, negotiated a class action settlement, managed outside counsel, and advised on issues concerning user policies and evolving privacy laws. Her in-house experience gives her practical insight into how legal teams assess litigation risk, business objectives, outside counsel performance, and case strategy. Sharon previously practiced at an Am Law 50 firm and other litigation firms in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

Sharon earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she served as Supervising Editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation and externed with the United States Attorney’s Office, Economic Crimes Unit, and the District Attorney’s Office for Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

Sharon is conversational in Korean and represents both U.S. and international clients.

  • Served as lead associate on a team that defended a private international bank in a lawsuit asserting RICO claims and helped secure a favorable resolution for the client two weeks before trial.
  • Obtained dismissals of class actions filed against global technology companies alleging violations of privacy laws and consumer protection statutes.
  • Represented a multinational engineering company in an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office into criminal fraud allegations and conducted over 30 witness interviews.
  • Represented a real estate company in a breach of contract dispute over a property worth more than $500 million.
  • Secured dismissal of counterclaims brought by the writers’ guilds against the largest talent agencies in a heavily publicized antitrust dispute over the agencies’ packaging fees.
  • Served as a member of a trial team that obtained a favorable jury verdict for a network and cybersecurity company in a patent infringement lawsuit.
  • Secured dismissal with prejudice in a securities fraud class action.
  • Represented a biotechnology company investigated by the SEC and obtained a favorable resolution.
