Amelia Sargent and Kenneth Trujillo-Jamison Recognized in Inaugural Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch

We are proud to announce that Amelia L.B. Sargent, partner, and Kenneth M. Trujillo-Jamison, senior associate, have been selected for inclusion in the First Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch.

Amelia L.B. Sargent has been recognized by Best Lawyers for her work in Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation. Kenneth M. Trujillo-Jamison has been recognized in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation. Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch highlights the accomplishments of “extraordinary lawyers who have been in private practice for less than 10 years in the United States.”

Amelia L.B. Sargent, partner, is an accomplished litigator and natural strategist. Since joining Willenken in 2017, she has demonstrated time and again her creative approach to lawyering and her skill in crafting compelling—and ultimately winning—narratives. In her relatively short tenure at Willenken, she has achieved multiple victories on behalf of her clients, including: arguing and winning summary judgment on behalf of a major LED manufacturer against $16 million in cross-claims, which was affirmed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit following Amelia’s oral argument upon appeal, and successfully resolving allegations of trade secret misappropriation and other claims relating to the formation of a new electric vehicle start-up. Amelia was also recently selected to the 2020 Southern California Rising Stars list. In recognition of her achievements and contributions to the firm, she was elected to the partnership in March of this year.

“Amelia is an incredibly talented strategist and, although she has been practicing for less than 10 years, she runs cases with the expertise of someone with 25 years’ of experience. This award is well-deserved.”

    —Jason Wilson, partner

Kenneth M. Trujillo-Jamison, senior associate, is highly skilled at aligning litigation strategy with client business objectives. His experience in intellectual property litigation is substantial, particularly in the areas of copyright and trademark matters. Kenneth has worked on some very high-profile cases, including serving on the defense team for the motion picture “Inside Out.” Recently, he was on secondment as litigation counsel at Mattel, Inc., where he managed nationwide litigation matters. Having joined the firm in March, Kenneth has already demonstrated his ability to deliver excellence for Willenken’s clients.

“This recognition speaks to Amelia and Kenneth’s creative approach in providing our clients with strategically-aligned advice and their ability to deliver excellence.”

    – Paul Loh, managing partner

Amelia and Kenneth were selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch through a rigorous peer-review process.
