The 2020 ACC Chicago Summit has been postponed. Please read the official announcement from ACC Chicago here.

Paul Loh and Jason Wilson are presenting a CLE presentation for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Chicago Chapter as part of Willenken’s 2020 ACC sponsorship.

The 2020 ACC Chicago Summit is a full-day conference of CLE, professional development, and networking for in-house counsel. Paul and Jason are co-presenting with local Illinois counsel Peter Carlson, senior counsel at Motorola Solutions, Inc., and Blake Nielsen, general counsel and vice president of operations at Enfusion.

“Defying Convention: Unconventional Terms to Manage Litigation Risk” explains why following the conventional wisdom in contracts and going to arbitration may not actually be the wisest move.

The presentation addresses how many contracting lawyers include binding arbitration clauses, attorneys’ fees clauses, etc., thinking that those terms are best for an organization. The panelists contend that the conventional wisdom is wrong on conventional terms. Instead, there are numerous unique terms that few contract attorneys use that may actually be more effective than conventional terms in mitigating litigation risk. They’ll provide real-life examples on how including unconventional terms in a company’s contracts will minimize the risk and maximize the outcome when faced with litigation.

Willenken is a proud sponsor of ACC chapters nationwide. If you are interested in learning more about the topic of this presentation, please contact Paul or Jason.
