Partners Paul Loh and Jason Wilson will present an in-person CLE titled “Defending the Corporate Witness” for the Southwest Ohio Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
The deposition of a corporate representative may initially appear akin to other depositions involving individual employees or officers that in-house counsel routinely manage and defend in a lawsuit. However, effectively defending corporate representatives demands significantly more preparation and strategic planning than the mechanics of Rule 30(b)(6), or common practices, indicate.
Even transactional lawyers will benefit from recognizing the potential risks involved in preparing a corporate witness should a business deal end up in litigation. This CLE presentation is designed both for in-house litigators and in-house transactional lawyers.
