According to the Federal Trade Commission, approximately 30 million American workers are currently bound by a non-compete clause. However, this could soon change as state-based efforts have started to disfavor and even ban non-compete clauses in employment contracts. Therefore, employers must pivot and find other ways to protect their intellectual property.
