Cranachs Remain at Norton Simon Under Act of State Doctrine

The article discusses the recent outcome of the Von Saher v. Norton Simon Museum of Art at Pasadena case.  Over a decade of litigation may have ended with the Ninth Circuit’s July 30, 2018 decision affirming summary judgment in favor of the Norton Simon Art Foundation and Museum, allowing them to retain ownership of the 16th-century diptych “Adam and Eve” by Louis Cranach the Elder.
