Willenken Hosts CLE and Social Hour for ACC Southwest Ohio Chapter

Eileen Ahern and Paul Loh hosted a CLE presentation and social hour for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Southwest Ohio Chapter on Oct. 17 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

As part of Willenken’s 2019 sponsorship of the ACC Southwest Ohio Chapter, Eileen and Paul organized and presented on a panel. The program, titled “Improving Your Odds: How to Avoid Consumer Litigation and Class Actions and Position Your Case for a Better Outcome When You’re Sued,” addressed the initial defense action plan that a company should have when hit with a consumer claim, with the ultimate goal of minimizing both exposure and disruption to its business.

Local Ohio counsel Edward Shin, vice president and general counsel at Clopay Corporation, and Sara Sudkamp, an adjunct instructor at the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business and former corporate attorney at The Kroger Co., joined Eileen and Paul on the panel. They discussed policies and practices to help avoid consumer claims, as well as strategies to consider and common pitfalls to avoid when consumer litigation arises.

The event took place at Rhinegeist Brewery and the presentation was followed by a brewery tour during the ACC Southwest Ohio Chapter’s social hour.

Willenken is a proud sponsor of ACC chapters nationwide. If you are interested in learning more about the topic of this presentation, please contact Eileen.
